How to Stay Motivated and Grow your Tree Service BusinessHow are you, the tree service provider, able to stay motivated through all the struggles and times that are needed in order to keep your workers happy, keep your machines running, and serve the needs of the community you serve? It is easy to just say that “I will power through it all!” However, it rarely happens that way because you say so. There are times when the bill must get paid, and you have to choose between going in the red for a month to pay your worker’s compensation or trying to slide on through and see if you are able to pull off a job.
Many people will quit at that type of struggle. They will see all the challenges involved and instantly realize that this may not be cut out for them. They may resign to a life of ease on the couch, making a boss or employer happy while they enjoy benefits and health insurance and retirement plans and so on and so on. However, for those of you that wish to persist and become something more, something bigger, something amazing, this post will reach you in great light. It is not difficult to stay motivated when you have a dream that is so large, so big, and so enormous that it keeps you up at night. However, many people have big dreams and get beaten down by the harshness of life, only to stay dreamers their whole life. Don’t let that be you. When you have a goal in mind and have the focus to stay on with a task, even when you are not in the mood to do it, then by all means do it! After all, if your dream is that big and your vision is that empowering, how are you not able to push it forward every day? In other words, would you wake up and show up to work if you had to (e.g. as in your 9-5pm). If you would do it for your job, and you hate it, how are you not able to be motivated to do it for YOUR OWN BUSINESS! If this is something you are passionate about, then you will not let feelings and emotion get in the way. You’ll just do it, just like your J-O-B. If you feel that what you want is so big that it does not matter what is in the way, you’ll achieve it, then you have no reason to come up with excuses. Now, there are times when you just feel so down. It seems like you should just put it off until later. The ironic thing, is that later almost never comes. It ends up being, tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow, until a whole year passes and you actually start getting results that are WORSE THAN WHEN YOU STARTED. At that point, you get into reactive mode because you finally saw your numbers dip into the red, and you spend your time playing catch up, just like an unprepared business owner who was not ready to see the storm coming, especially when you are a tree service provider! You should be the first one ready to catch a storm when it comes! We hope you have a great day and are able to persevere through the simple disciplines that will make you a fortune in the long run. |
